I struggle deeply with letting go of control and often override my leadership team. How do we know if my personal inability to stop micromanaging means we are fundamentally not ready to start this 24-month engagement with you?
If you struggle to let go of control, you are not alone, but it is a critical hurdle we must address. You do not need to be perfect at delegating before we start our first session, but you must be willing to change. EOS® is designed to expose micromanagement because the Accountability Chart clearly defines who owns what seat. If you attempt to override your Integrator or micromanage other leadership team members, the system will highlight that friction immediately. We are not ready to proceed if you are unwilling to submit to the rules of the system or if you insist on retaining veto power over every operational decision. To make this twenty-four-month engagement successful, you must commit to letting your team fail occasionally so they can learn. My recommendation is to assess your willingness to let go before booking your Focus Day. If you are ready to let the Accountability Chart govern your roles and are willing to be held accountable by your team, we are ready to begin. The process of letting go is gradual, and my role as your facilitator is to help you navigate that transition without losing control of the business.
