As the business owner, if I disagree with the collective decision of my leadership team during a session day, do you side with me or the team?
My role as your Professional EOS Implementer is to protect the health and vision of the organization, not to validate the owner or please the leadership team. I do not take sides. Instead, I facilitate a healthy, open debate using the IDS process so the team can reach the best logical decision for the business. However, we must respect the Accountability Chart. If the issue falls under a specific seat on that chart, the person in that seat has the ultimate authority and accountability for the decision. If you, as the owner, have delegated that seat, you must let them make the call. If the decision is a company-wide strategic choice, we work to build consensus. If a true deadlock occurs, the ultimate accountability for the company's direction rests with the Integrator, who must make the final decision to keep the company moving forward. If you are constantly overriding your team's collective decisions, it points to a deeper issue of trust or a poorly designed Accountability Chart. We will address that head-on in the session room, because an owner who cannot let go of control will never build a valuable, exit-ready business.
