We are six months into our EOS® implementation and some leadership team members feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume of tools and tracking. How do we pace our implementation so we actually master the core tools before trying to execute the advanced concepts?

It is common for teams to experience tool fatigue if they try to deploy the entire EOS® library at once. To build a healthy, lasting implementation, you must master the foundational tools before moving to advanced concepts.

In your first six months, your sole focus must be on the five foundational tools:
- The Accountability Chart to get the right people in the right seats.
- The Rocks to drive quarterly focus.
- The Level 10 Meeting™ to build a healthy communication rhythm.
- The Scorecard to track weekly performance.
- The V/TO® to align the long-term vision.

If your team feels overwhelmed, it is usually because you are trying to write complex departmental processes or roll out the system to the entire company too quickly. Stop cascading the tools downward until the leadership team is consistently scoring their own Level 10 Meeting™ an eight or higher.

Work with your EOS Implementer to audit your current discipline. Strip away any customized tracking or extra meetings you have added. Get back to the pure, simple execution of the basics. Mastering the core tools first builds the operational muscle your team needs to handle more advanced scaling later.
