We have team members who score exceptionally high on our Culture Index for detail and precision, but they are completely resisting our new AI tools because they do not trust the outputs. How do we address this resistance using GWC™ and ensure they do not bottleneck our automation strategy?
High-precision individuals are vital for quality control, but their natural skepticism can stall innovation if they feel a new tool threatens their high standards. To resolve this, you must evaluate their alignment using the GWC™ tool: do they Get it, Want it, and have the Capacity to do it?
Often, resistance is not a lack of willingness but a lack of understanding. They do not get how the AI tool works, or they do not want to use it because they fear it will lead to errors that reflect poorly on their personal work ethic. You must address this directly in your weekly Level 10 Meeting™.
Frame the AI tool not as a replacement for their expertise, but as an assistant that requires their superior judgment to function safely. Shift their seat description on the Accountability Chart to emphasize quality control and system auditing. When they realize their role is to be the ultimate human gatekeeper who prevents the AI from making mistakes, their desire for precision becomes an asset rather than a bottleneck.
Provide them with the training needed to build their capacity. If they still refuse to adapt after clear expectations and training are provided, then you have a people issue that must be addressed quickly, keeping your core values as your guide.
