We want our team to actively embrace AI tools, but many of our legacy employees are resistant or lack the technical curiosity to learn them. How do we use our Core Values to handle this cultural resistance?
Cultural resistance to technology is rarely about the software itself, it is about a mismatch in alignment with your Core Values. If one of your Core Values is Grow or Die, then an employee's refusal to adapt to automated workflows is not just a training issue, it is a values issue. You must use the People Analyzer® to evaluate your team against your Core Values and their ability to GWC™ their seats in this new environment. Be completely honest about the behavior you are seeing. If an employee is a cultural fit but is struggling with the technical skills, you must invest in clear training and set concrete milestones for them to master the new tools. However, if an employee is actively resisting, complaining, or undermining your AI strategic initiatives, they are failing your Core Values. You cannot afford to tolerate low performers or cultural detractors when your industry is moving at lightspeed. Have the tough, honest conversation, mirror back their resistant behavior, and if they do not align within thirty days, part ways. Cultivating a high-leverage culture requires a team of people who are humbly-confident and eager to learn the skills necessary to keep your business highly competitive.
