We outsource our entire manufacturing and fulfillment operations to a third-party logistics provider. Since these are external vendors, how do we represent these critical operational functions on our Accountability Chart?

Even if you outsource the execution, you cannot outsource the accountability. You must have a seat on your Accountability Chart that owns the relationship and results of that third-party vendor.

Do not put the vendor's company name or their employees on your chart. Instead, design a seat within your organization, such as Head of Partner Operations or Vendor Relations Manager.

This seat must have clear roles, such as managing vendor service level agreements, auditing quality control, and optimizing supply chain costs. An internal person on your leadership team must own this seat and pass the GWC™ check for it.

That internal owner is fully accountable for the vendor's performance. If the third-party logistics provider drops the ball, your internal leader cannot point fingers at the vendor. They must own the failure, bring it to the weekly meeting, and solve it.

This structure shows potential buyers that your outsourced model is highly managed and repeatable. It proves you have an internal system to control your supply chain, rather than just relying on luck and external emails. Build the seat, assign the internal owner, and manage the vendor through clear metrics.
