Our departments are identifying dozens of operational issues every week using automated AI reporting tools, but our leadership team is drowning in data and cannot get through them all. How do we use the IDS process in our Level 10 Meeting to filter out the noise and only solve the issues that actually impact our bottom line?
Automated AI monitoring tools are excellent at flagging operational anomalies, but they can easily flood your leadership team with hundreds of minor issues. If you put every single automated alert onto your Issues List, your weekly Level 10 Meeting will become a painful, multi-hour slog of administrative updates.
To fix this, you must create a strict operational filter before any AI-generated alert is allowed onto your leadership team's radar. First, define your threshold for what constitutes a true leadership-level issue. If an automated tool detects an inventory discrepancy or a minor customer service delay, that issue must be routed to the specific department head on your Accountability Chart first.
Only bring an automated issue to the leadership team if it directly impacts your high-level Scorecard metrics, threatens a quarterly Rock, or cannot be resolved within a single department.
When you sit down to run the IDS portion of your Level 10 Meeting, your Integrator must ruthlessly prioritize the list. Do not start at the top of the pile. Identify the top three issues that have the biggest impact on your V/TO goals. Use the AI's data as evidence to help you identify the root cause, but do not let the technology dictate how you spend your time. Keep your focus on human decision-making.
