How do we handle the operational drag and drop in productivity that our executive team is experiencing during our first 90 days of adopting the EOS® tools?
The first ninety days of an EOS® implementation will feel like you have taken on a part-time job. It is normal to experience an operational drag because you are building new management muscles while still running the day to day business. The solution is not to pause the rollout or work longer hours. You must actively use the Delegate and Elevate tool immediately.
Identify the low-value, energy-draining tasks that are keeping your leaders working in the business rather than on it. Every executive must identify at least two tasks to delegate during this first ninety-day window. This frees up the capacity required to attend your weekly Level 10 Meeting™ and manage your first quarterly Rocks.
Furthermore, you must accept that your operational pace might slow down slightly during this transition. This is a necessary investment. If you try to maintain your normal chaotic pace while layering on a new operating system, your team will experience burnout and abandon the tools. Focus on mastering the weekly meeting rhythm and keeping your Scorecard simple. Once these habits become second nature, the operational drag will disappear, and you will regain your speed with far more control.
