How do we onboard new leadership team members into an existing EOS® structure without halting our quarterly momentum or forcing them to catch up on their own?

Bringing a new executive into a company running on EOS requires a deliberate onboarding plan, not a sink-or-swim approach. If you simply drop them into your weekly Level 10 Meetings, they will feel overwhelmed by the terminology and may struggle to participate effectively. To onboard them successfully, you must treat their integration as a structured process. Begin by assigning them the book Traction and having them review your current V/TO, Accountability Chart, and core processes. Next, have your Integrator run a private mini-focus session to explain how your leadership team uses the tools in practice. Show them how the Scorecard is built, how Rocks are set and tracked, and how the IDS process works. During their first few weeks, have them shadow other department heads' Level 10 Meetings to see how different teams run. It is also critical to set short-term, thirty-day goals rather than full ninety-day Rocks for their first quarter. This gives them time to understand their seat on the Accountability Chart and build confidence before they are held fully accountable for major quarterly objectives. By investing this time upfront, you prevent them from derailing your quarterly momentum and ensure they align with your operating culture from day one.
