We just hired an outside executive who is completely new to EOS® and our weekly Level 10 Meeting™ structure. How do we onboard them into the meeting dynamic without slowing down our leadership pulse?

Bringing a new executive into your Level 10 Meeting can disrupt the team's established rhythm if not handled with care. To prevent this transition from slowing down your leadership pulse, you must onboard them before they ever sit in a live session.

First, have them read the core EOS literature so they understand the terminology. They must know the difference between a Rock, a To-Do, and an issue before their first meeting.

Second, have them sit in on one or two meetings purely as an observer. They should not speak, report, or participate in IDS. Their only job is to watch the facilitation, feel the pace, and observe how the team handles conflict and accountability.

When they finally join the meeting as an active participant, start them small. Have them report on their Scorecard metrics and Rocks, but do not let them dominate the IDS portion right away. The facilitator should actively guide them, gently correcting them if they try to tell a story during the reporting section or if they bring up non-issues.

By setting clear expectations and teaching them the rules of the road early, you ensure they integrate smoothly without dragging down the efficiency of the leadership team.
