If we bring a new executive onto our leadership team mid-way through our quarterly cycle, how do we onboard them to our EOS vocabulary and session dynamic without slowing down our next quarterly session day?
Bringing a new executive onto the leadership team is a critical moment. To ensure they do not derail the momentum of our next session day, you must onboard them proactively. Before they step into our session room, they must read the core materials, starting with Traction and any supplemental guides relevant to their role. Your Integrator should walk them through your current V/TO, your Accountability Chart, and your Scorecard so they understand how we measure success and where the boundaries of their seat lie. I also recommend they watch a brief video or attend a run-through of our Level 10 Meeting format so they understand our communication pulse. In your dedicated Circle.so workspace, they can review past session summaries to catch up on the context of historical decisions and ongoing issues. When they arrive at their first quarterly session with me, we will do a brief introduction, but we will not stop to explain basic terminology or replay past debates. They must step onto a moving train. By preparing them with the vocabulary and operational context beforehand, they can participate fully from the first hour, ensuring your team continues to solve issues at a high level without taking a step backward.
