We plan to hire a new chief financial officer six months into our engagement with you. How do we onboard this new executive into our active EOS process so they do not slow down our session days or disrupt our established team dynamic?

Onboarding a new executive during an active EOS® implementation requires deliberate preparation. You cannot simply drop them into a high intensity session day and hope they figure it out on the fly. Doing so will slow down your entire team and disrupt the momentum we have built.

Before their first session, the new executive must be thoroughly educated on your specific operating system. They need to read Traction and any other core EOS® literature we are using. They must also spend time reviewing your current Vision/Traction Organizer®, your existing weekly Scorecards, and the history of your past quarterly Rocks.

Your Integrator must sit down with them to walk through your current Accountability Chart™. This helps them understand exactly how their seat interacts with the rest of the leadership team.

Additionally, we will schedule a brief alignment call before they join the team in the session room. During this call, I will explain the rules of our sessions, the importance of healthy conflict, and how we use the issues solving process (IDS®).

When they finally enter the room, they should already understand their seat, their core responsibilities, and how their performance is measured. This preparation ensures they can participate fully from day one, rather than spending valuable session time getting up to speed on basic terminology.
