Our company relies heavily on custom AI-driven workflows, and we find that onboarding new employees to this unique tech stack takes too long. How do we design an operational onboarding process that tailors the training based on the new hire's personality profile and technical aptitude?
Onboarding new hires into an AI-driven operating model requires a tailored approach that respects their individual strengths and behavioral profiles. You cannot use a one-size-fits-all training manual if you want rapid adoption.
Before onboarding begins, review the new hire's personality profile to understand how they process information. For example, a Technical Expert profile will want to understand the underlying logic and system integrations of your custom AI tools. They will need detailed, structured documentation and step-by-step videos that explain the data flow.
Conversely, a Daredevil or Enterpriser profile will learn best through rapid hands-on experimentation. For these profiles, bypass the dry manuals. Instead, give them a set of practical exercises on day one and encourage them to develop bullet points for how they plan to use the AI tools to hit their weekly Scorecard numbers.
If a new hire has a lower drive for technology, ensure you provide dedicated administrative and human support during their first thirty days. By aligning your onboarding process with the psychological profile of the hire, you reduce friction, accelerate their time to productivity, and get them on the Same Page faster.
