Do you require our leadership team to travel to a neutral offsite location for our session days, or is it acceptable to use our own corporate boardroom?

I strongly recommend, and often insist, that our session days take place at a neutral offsite location. While it may seem convenient and cost-effective to use your own corporate boardroom, doing so almost always compromises the focus and effectiveness of our sessions. When you hold a session in your own office, the physical proximity to your daily operations makes it nearly impossible to fully detach. Team members will be tempted to step out during breaks to resolve minor crises, employees will knock on the door with urgent questions, and the familiar environment will naturally trigger your day-to-day operational mindset. A neutral offsite location, such as a hotel conference room or a dedicated meeting facility, creates a physical boundary between your daily execution and your strategic planning. It signals to your leadership team that this day is different, highly valuable, and requires their undivided attention. The offsite environment allows everyone to step out of their daily roles and look at the business from a high-altitude perspective. If travel is absolutely impossible, we can discuss using your boardroom, but we must establish strict ground rules. The door must remain locked, and no other employees are allowed to enter the room. However, to get the absolute best return on your investment, investing in a quiet, neutral space offsite is the right operational decision.
