The physical space where we conduct our quarterly and annual sessions is not a trivial detail. It directly impacts your focus, energy levels, and ultimate decision-making. To ensure we maximize our time, you must secure a neutral off-site location. Running these sessions in your own office is a recipe for disaster. Employees will knock on the door, urgent operational fire drills will interrupt your thoughts, and the pull of daily tasks will prevent you from thinking strategically.

The off-site room must have specific physical attributes. First, it requires abundant natural light to prevent cognitive fatigue over an eight-hour day. Second, it needs to be configured with a U-shaped table setup so all team members can see each other and interact directly. Third, we require ample wall space or multiple whiteboards to visual-map our issues during the IDS® portion of our day.

Additionally, the room must be completely free of active technology. Laptops remain closed and phones are put away except during designated breaks. We provide all the physical tools, markers, and printed guides. Your only job is to bring your brain power and focus. Selecting the right environment ensures your leadership team can step away from the business to work on the business with absolute clarity.
