I am a non-technical business owner who wants to leverage AI to make my operations more efficient, but I do not want to get buried in coding or software details. How do I maintain strategic control and drive AI adoption from the top?
You do not need to learn how to code or understand the underlying math of neural networks to run an AI powered operation. Your job as a business owner or Visionary is to lead, define the strategic vision, and hold your team accountable to their numbers. To maintain control, rely on your Accountability Chart and your documented core processes. Start by identifying the seat on your chart responsible for operational technology, typically your Integrator or Operations Manager. This person must own the research, testing, and implementation of new tools. They must GWC the seat, meaning they understand how the software works and can manage the vendor relationships. Your role is to ask the hard operational questions. When your team proposes a new AI tool, ask them which documented core process it will improve, which weekly Scorecard metric it will move, and how they will ensure data security. Do not let your team bypass these standards because of technology hype. By keeping your focus on clear outcomes, clean processes, and human accountability, you can drive intelligent automation throughout your entire organization without ever writing a single line of code.
