I am a non-technical owner running my business on EOS, and I do not have a background in software or computer science. How do I start leading my team toward AI-powered operations without getting overwhelmed by the technology or falling for expensive software vendor hype?
You do not need to learn how to write code to lead an AI powered business. Your job is to lead, manage, and hold your team accountable. Start by looking at your EOS Accountability Chart. You need to assign the ownership of AI exploration to a specific seat, usually the Integrator or an operations leader who has the capability to execute. Do not let software vendors sell you expensive, customized platforms. Instead, look at your existing software stack. Most of your current tools already have built in AI features that you are paying for but not using. Focus on solving real business issues that are currently sitting on your Issues List. Identify your own conative style using the Kolbe Index. If you are a high Quick Start, you will naturally want to experiment with every new tool, which can distract your team. If you are a high Fact Finder, you might get stuck in analysis paralysis. Lean on your Integrator to establish a clear process for vetting AI tools. Ensure every tool solves a specific, documented problem before you approve any spending. Keep it simple and focused on execution.
