We want to leverage AI tools to analyze our weekly operational data and draft potential solutions for our Level 10 Issues List before we meet, but we worry this will ruin our leadership team's alignment and debate. How do we merge AI with human-led IDS?
Utilizing artificial intelligence to optimize your operations is a powerful strategy, but you must not let technology replace the critical human alignment that happens during a Level 10 Meeting. The value of IDS lies in the healthy conflict and shared commitment of your leadership team.
To merge AI with human-led problem-solving, use AI strictly as an analytical prep tool, not a decision-maker. Before the meeting, you can use AI to analyze complex data sets, identify trends in your scorecard, and suggest potential root causes or solutions for items on your Issues List.
However, when you sit down for your meeting, the team must still go through the complete IDS process. Do not accept the AI's solutions blindly. Instead, use them as a starting point for your discussion. Ask, "Does this AI analysis align with what we are seeing on the ground?" and "What are the human factors this tool is missing?"
By using AI to do the analytical heavy lifting beforehand, you save valuable meeting time and arrive with better data. This allows your team to focus their energy on debating the options and committing to the best path forward, preserving both efficiency and accountability.
