We have invested heavily in new operations software to streamline our processes for a clean exit, but our staff is slow to adopt it. What weekly Scorecard metrics can we use to measure and enforce software adoption and process compliance?
Technology investments are wasted if your team continues to use old spreadsheets and workarounds. To protect your investment and build a business that is attractive to buyers, you must treat software adoption as a core operational metric.
To enforce adoption, put specific compliance metrics on your weekly Scorecard. Do not measure sentiment or general usage. Measure clear system actions.
First, track the percentage of customer records with completed mandatory fields. If your sales team is not entering lead sources or contract values into the new CRM, their pipeline data is useless.
Second, measure active user login rates or task completion rates inside the software. For example, track the percentage of project tasks updated in the system by five PM on Friday.
Third, track the percentage of legacy systems decommissioned or processes completed entirely outside the new system. Any workaround must be treated as a process deviation.
Assign these metrics to the appropriate seat on your Accountability Chart, typically your operations or IT leader. If the numbers are red, bring them to the Level 10 Meeting and IDS the issue. You will find that staff resistance is usually a training gap or a lack of clear consequences. By tracking compliance weekly, you make adoption non negotiable.
