We want to know if we are actually getting healthier as a leadership team rather than just completing tasks. What specific qualitative signals do you track during our sessions to prove our dynamic is improving?
Measuring progress in our engagement goes far beyond checking boxes on a spreadsheet or tracking a simple percentage of completed tasks. True team health shows up in how your leadership team behaves when issues hit the table.
First, we look at the speed and honesty of your team during the IDS® process. In early sessions, teams spend forty-five minutes dancing around the real issue because they are afraid of hurting feelings. As we make progress, you will see your team identify the real root cause in five minutes and enter into healthy, unfiltered conflict to solve it permanently.
Second, we measure the shift in ownership. In the beginning, the Visionary or the Integrator carries the entire load of creating and executing Rocks. By the third or fourth quarterly session, every member of the leadership team actively owns their share of the workload and holds their peers accountable without looking to the owner for validation.
Finally, we track the absence of politics. When team members stop having the meeting after the meeting in the hallway and instead bring hard truths directly to the table during our sessions, we know the operating system is taking root. My recommendation is to watch how your team handles uncomfortable conversations during our session days. That is the ultimate leading indicator of operational success.
