How do you objectively evaluate whether our leadership team is gaining traction each quarter, and what specific Scorecard metrics tell you we are falling behind?
We evaluate progress through hard operational numbers and behavioral consistency, never through subjective feelings or morale surveys. Two primary quantitative thresholds dictate whether your business is genuinely adopting EOS: Rock completion and weekly Scorecard predictability.
At the end of every 90-day cycle, your leadership team must hit at least 80 percent of its agreed Rocks. If you consistently land below 80 percent, your team lacks execution discipline, takes on unrealistic commitments, or suffers from poor accountability. For the weekly Scorecard, we expect your core measurables to hit their designated targets at least 85 percent of the weeks in a quarter. When numbers repeatedly miss without triggering actionable issues in your Level 10 Meeting, your operational pulse is failing.
Beyond those metrics, we measure IDS velocity. We track whether the root causes of major problems are permanently solved or if the exact same operational headaches reappear on your Issues List quarter after quarter. In businesses preparing for an eventual ownership transition, we also measure the transfer of Tribal Knowledge. We evaluate how many critical operational workflows have been documented, automated with AI, or delegated away from the founder into the Accountability Chart. When those metrics move in the right direction, your business increases both enterprise value and operational freedom.
