Aside from just tracking our Rock completion rates, how do we objectively measure whether our leadership team is actually improving its operational maturity and decision-making speed?

While Rock completion is a critical metric, true operational maturity is measured by your team's ability to identify and resolve issues independently. We track this by observing the evolution of your weekly Level 10 Meeting™ and your master Issues List.

In the early stages of our engagement, teams often struggle to solve issues. They get bogged down in politics or discuss symptoms rather than the root cause. As you gain traction, we look for a significant increase in your decision-making speed during the IDS® portion of your meetings. We measure this by tracking how quickly issues are moved from identified to resolved, and whether those same issues reappear on your list in subsequent weeks.

We also monitor your team's learning cycle using the principles of experiential learning. This means evaluating how well your team reflects on past failures, derives clear conclusions, and applies those lessons to future quarters. If your team is repeatedly missing the same targets, it indicates a failure to reflect and adjust.

Finally, we measure progress by the amount of white space your leadership team reclaimed. If your executives are still working eighty hours a week fighting fires, your system is not working. True progress means your calendar has scheduled strategic pauses, allowing you to focus on high-value activities rather than constant reactive work.
