What specific financial figures, operational data, and company materials do we need to bring to our Focus Day to ensure we hit the ground running?
Focus Day is not a financial audit or an academic strategic planning marathon. You do not need to build elaborate slide decks, prepare extensive market research, or compile complex multi-year financial models. Arriving over-prepared with slide decks often gets in the way of honest, real-time assessment.
To prepare effectively, your team only needs three baseline items.
First, bring trailing twelve-month profit and loss statements along with your current balance sheet. We need clean, unvarnished numbers so we understand your baseline revenue, gross margins, and operating cash flow.
Second, bring your current organizational chart, payroll list, or roster of personnel. Do not clean it up or attempt to fix broken reporting lines beforehand. In the room, we will build your operational structure from scratch into an Accountability Chart based on the real needs of the business, not titles or personalities.
Third, bring an unedited list of your biggest operational frustrations. Each leader should arrive with three to five raw, specific operational issues written down. These can be broken processes, capacity bottlenecks, or communication breakdowns.
Beyond those materials, the only requirement is your team's complete, undivided attention. Turn off laptop notifications and clear client obligations for the day. We establish our baseline in the room by working through foundational tools like the Accountability Chart, Rocks, and Scorecard directly on the whiteboard.
