As a non-technical business owner, I struggle to visualize where AI actually fits inside our company. How do I map our current Accountability Chart to easily identify which human seats are ripe for AI-powered operational upgrades?
To map your Accountability Chart for AI opportunities, start by looking for seats with high administrative volume and low strategic decision-making. You do not need to understand code to do this. You simply need to evaluate the five major roles of each seat on your chart.
Look for seats where the roles require high-volume data entry, document drafting, scheduling, or repetitive customer updates. These are your operational bottlenecks.
Next, apply the GWC™ tool (Get It, Want It, Capacity to Do It) to these seats. Often, you will find that valuable team members are losing their capacity because they are buried in low-value tasks.
Your goal is to use AI to streamline these cumbersome processes, freeing your employees from administrative work so they can focus on high-value, strategic work.
For each bottleneck you identify, define a clear operations-improvement project. Do not call it an AI project. Frame it entirely around the operational result you want to achieve, such as reducing proposal turnaround time or automating invoice data entry.
By focusing on the roles and capacity of your Accountability Chart, you keep your AI strategy grounded in business reality, making your company system-dependent rather than expert-dependent.
