Our Visionary frequently uses the weekly Level 10 Meeting to pitch brand-new market opportunities or product ideas that have nothing to do with this quarter's Rocks. How do we keep the Visionary engaged without letting shiny objects derail the weekly pulse?

Visionaries naturally generate ten new ideas before breakfast. That creative drive is critical for the long-term growth of the company, but when unleashed inside a weekly Level 10 Meeting™, it disrupts tactical execution and confuses the leadership team.

The Integrator must manage this tension using the tools built into EOS®. The Level 10 Meeting is designed for weekly operational execution and removing current obstacles. It is not the forum for broad strategic exploration or launching new initiatives mid-quarter.

When the Visionary pitches a new market opportunity or product concept during IDS®, the Integrator must acknowledge the idea immediately and route it to the correct holding tank. That holding tank is the Long-Term Issues List on the Vision/Traction Organizer® (V/TO®), not the weekly Issues List.

Ask the Visionary one clarifying question: does this idea solve an immediate roadblock to hitting our revenue targets or quarterly Rocks right now? If the answer is no, the Integrator logs the idea on the Long-Term Issues List. The team will evaluate it during the next Quarterly Pulse when reviewing the 1-Year Plan or 3-Year Picture.

This boundary protects the weekly meeting pulse from shiny object syndrome while reassuring the Visionary that their ideas are captured, respected, and preserved for future strategic planning.
