Visionaries are incredible idea generators, which is vital for company growth, but their spontaneous ideas can easily derail weekly execution. The Level 10 Meeting™ is designed for traction, not long-term strategic brainstorming sessions. When the Visionary brings a new idea to the weekly pulse, the Integrator must protect the agenda.

Use the compartmentalization framework to manage this. If the idea does not solve an immediate, critical obstacle for this quarter, it does not belong on the short-term Issues List. It belongs on the V/TO® Long-Term Issues List.

The Integrator must step in and say, this is a great strategic idea, so let us capture it on our long-term list for our next quarterly planning session. This keeps the weekly IDS® focused strictly on the issues blocking your current Rocks and scorecard metrics.
