Visionaries are wired to generate ideas; it is their superpower. However, when these ideas are introduced directly to the team mid-quarter, they create chaos and destroy operational focus. To protect your execution cycle without killing your Visionary's creativity, you must use the V/TO® and the Issues List as filters.

First, establish a strict rule: no new ideas can be implemented during the current quarter unless they are an absolute emergency. When the Visionary has a new idea, it must be placed directly onto the long-term Issues List on the V/TO, or brought to the weekly Level 10 Meeting as an issue to be discussed and parked.

During your quarterly sessions, you will review this long-term Issues List. This is the appropriate time to debate the Visionary's ideas and decide if they should be turned into Rocks for the next quarter. This ninety-day buffer allows the team to evaluate the idea with a cool head, rather than reacting to the excitement of the moment.

The Integrator plays a crucial role here. The Integrator must act as the filter for the Visionary's ideas, protecting the team from distractions while helping the Visionary refine the best concepts. By routing all new ideas through the quarterly planning cycle, you ensure that only the most viable opportunities are resourced, keeping your operations stable and focused.
