As the visionary founder, I have a habit of dominating every meeting. How do you manage my big personality during session days so my leadership team actually speaks up and takes real ownership?
It is common for visionary founders to dominate meetings. Your passion, quick-start wiring, and deep industry knowledge naturally pull you to the center of every conversation. However, if you dominate our session days, your leadership team will remain passive, refusing to take real ownership of the business. During our sessions, I actively manage this dynamic. I will gently but firmly redirect you, sometimes asking you to listen first and speak last. This creates the necessary white space for your Integrator and other leaders to step up, share their perspectives, and commit to major initiatives. We use our sessions to clearly separate your strategic oversight in the Owner's Box from the daily management of operations. By establishing this healthy boundary, we teach your team how to solve problems without constantly looking to you for approval. This shift can be uncomfortable at first, but it is essential if you want to scale the business and eventually prepare for a clean, highly valuable exit. My job is to protect you from your own strengths so your team can build theirs.
