How do you manage the session room when the Visionary founder dominates airtime and prevents the Integrator or other executives from speaking freely?

My primary responsibility as an Implementer is to serve the greater good of your company, not to validate the ego of the founder. Founders often dominate conversations out of habit because they have carried the operational weight of the business for years. In the session room, that habit kills executive development.

When a Visionary monopolizes the discussion, I intervene directly. I will call time out, name the behavior, and deliberately direct the conversation to the specific seat owner responsible for that topic. If the topic is operational process, service delivery, or project management, the Integrator and department leaders speak first, not the founder.

We enforce explicit conversational ground rules in the room: only one person speaks at a time, no one interrupts, and every seat must speak with candid, unfiltered honesty. If a founder attempts to steamroll a debate or dismiss an executive's input during IDS®, I will stop the room and make the Visionary listen. We identify whether the founder's behavior is driven by fear, lack of trust, or a failure to let go of the vine.

For an Integrator to succeed, they must have real authority. My job is to protect that operational boundary in the session room until the leadership team can hold it independently in their weekly meetings.
