Our sales leader uses Customer Headlines to celebrate closing massive, non-standard enterprise accounts, but these surprise wins consistently break our operational capacity. How do we keep positive sales headlines from blindsiding delivery without discouraging the team?

A common trap in the Level 10 Meeting is treating massive new sales as pure celebrations during Customer Headlines when they actually represent immediate operational risks. When a sales leader announces they just closed a multi-million dollar contract that requires custom delivery starting next Monday, that is not merely good news. It is an operational shock wave.

Headlines should take five minutes total. It is designed to share notable customer and employee news, but anything that creates friction or requires cross-departmental coordination must drop to the Issues List.

When a major deal is announced in Headlines, the Integrator must acknowledge the commercial win and immediately ask one question: Does our operational capacity support this rollout without dropping our existing Scorecard measurables or customer satisfaction scores?

If the answer is uncertain, the deal immediately drops to the Issues List. During IDS, the team addresses the real issues:
- Resourcing: Do we have the labor and materials to fulfill this commitment?
- Process: Does this non-standard client break our Core Processes?
- Prioritization: Will delivering this deal derail existing quarterly Rocks?

Celebrating revenue that your delivery engine cannot execute creates internal resentment and burns out frontline staff. Keep Headlines brief, praise the sales win, and immediately shift the operational consequences into IDS where they can be properly solved.
