Our weekly Level 10 Meeting task list is becoming a graveyard of incomplete, multi week administrative tasks that never seem to get cleared. How do we keep our To Do list focused strictly on short term actions that drive weekly traction?

A healthy Level 10 Meeting™ To-Do list should have a ninety percent completion rate every single week. If your list is growing longer and tasks are sitting there for three or four weeks, your meeting is losing its momentum and your team is sliding back into operational sluggishness.

The most common reason for a stalled To-Do list is that your team is putting major projects or ongoing administrative tasks on the list. A Level 10 To-Do is not a project management tracker. It is a list of specific, short-term actions that can and must be fully completed within the next seven days.

When you are solving issues during the IDS® portion of your meeting, the resolution should almost always result in a seven-day To-Do. If an issue requires a task that will take three weeks, do not write a three-week To-Do. Instead, break it down and write a To-Do for the specific part that must be done by next week.

The Integrator must review the To-Do list at the start of every meeting. If a leader has a pending task, they must state whether it is done or not done. No excuses or explanations are allowed. If it is not done, it stays on the list for one more week. If it is still not done the following week, it must be dropped to the Issues List so the team can find out why the commitment was broken.
