Both my Integrator and I have incredibly high Quick Start scores on our Kolbe profiles, which means we are great at starting things but terrible at finishing them. How do we keep our Accountability Chart from turning into a chaotic playground of half-baked ideas?
When both the Visionary and the Integrator have high Quick Start scores on their Kolbe profiles, you have an organization that is highly innovative but lacks organizational stability. You will naturally generate dozens of brilliant ideas every week, but almost none of them will actually get finished.
To keep your business from collapsing under the weight of your own ideas, you must establish strict operational boundaries. First, the Accountability Chart must be absolutely clear. The Integrator must own the daily execution, and the Visionary must respect that authority.
Second, use your V/TO® as an absolute filter. When a new idea is generated, it cannot be acted upon immediately. It must go to the long-term Issues list on the V/TO®. It can only be discussed during your next quarterly session, where it will be weighed against your existing strategic priorities.
Third, you must build conative synergy into the leadership team. Since both of you lack high Follow Thru, you must hire leaders for your key seats who naturally excel at systemization and completion. Look for team members who score high in Follow Thru on their Kolbe Index to ground your fast-paced ideas in reality.
