We have frozen new hiring because we want AI to absorb our operational growth, but our current employees are screaming about burnout because they have not fully mastered the new tools yet. How do we manage this transition period on our Accountability Chart without destroying morale or slowing down operations?
This is a classic management bottleneck. Your employees are stuck doing their old manual work while trying to learn how to integrate AI tools at the same time, effectively doubling their cognitive load.
You must use the Accountability Chart and your weekly Level 10 Meeting™ to address this bottleneck systematically. First, review the GWC™ of the employees who are struggling. Do they truly understand how to use the new AI tools? Do they want the responsibility? Do they have the capacity?
If they lack capacity because they are buried in daily execution, you must temporarily adjust their Rocks. Make their primary quarterly Rock the automation of their own seat. Give them dedicated, non-operational hours each week specifically to train, build prompts, and document new AI-driven workflows.
Do not let them suffer in silence. Use your weekly Scorecard to track both operational output and AI adoption milestones. If an employee is falling behind, use the IDS® process to identify whether they need targeted training or if the tool itself is failing. By prioritizing tool mastery over raw output during this transition, you relieve burnout and build a highly leveraged team.
