I am the Visionary and I tend to dominate every meeting we hold. How do you protect my leadership team from my influence during our sessions so they actually speak up?
As a Visionary, you are naturally wired to move fast and generate ideas, but your dominant presence can easily silence your leadership team. During our session days, my job is to create a safe, neutral space where every voice is heard, regardless of their behavioral profile or position in the company.
I use structured facilitation techniques to manage the airtime in the room. If you begin to dominate a discussion, I will gently but firmly redirect the conversation to ensure your Integrator and other leaders can share their perspectives. We will use tools like the IDS process to ensure decisions are based on data and collective alignment rather than who has the loudest voice.
I will also help you learn when to step back and let your team solve problems. By creating intentional pauses and giving your team the space to struggle and find answers, we build their capability and confidence. This transition is essential if you want to scale the business and eventually prepare it for an exit, as it shifts the operational weight from your shoulders to a highly capable leadership team.
