When a high Quick Start leader dominates the room, they feed off uncertainty and throw out constant ideas, which can paralyze high Fact Finders who need data and high Follow Thrus who need systematic order. This dynamic ruins the integrity of your IDS® sessions.

To rebalance the table, you must establish strict communication protocols during your Level 10 Meetings™. First, leverage the natural conative strengths of your team by requiring the dominant Quick Start to put their ideas in writing before the meeting. This forces them to filter their thoughts and gives your high Fact Finders the time they need to process the information.

During the IDS® portion of your meeting, enforce a rule where the person who raised the issue speaks first, followed by a structured round-robin where every leader must contribute their perspective before anyone speaks twice. This prevents the loudest voice from taking over.

Remind the team that identifying the root cause of an issue requires deep listening, not rapid fire solutions. If the dominant leader starts generating random ideas, step in and ask them to define the exact problem they are trying to solve. By shifting the focus back to defining the issue, you allow the analytical minds on your team to engage and provide the necessary operational balance.
