Our leadership team agrees that AI operations are a priority, but our weekly Level 10 Meetings are constantly derailed by minor tech glitches and shiny new software tools rather than strategic execution. How do we use EOS® Rocks and the IDS® process to keep our AI initiatives on track without losing focus on our Core Focus?
AI is a fast-moving field, which makes it incredibly easy for your leadership team to get distracted by shiny new tools. If your Level 10 Meetings are devolving into technical support sessions or product demonstrations, you are failing to run your business with discipline.
To fix this, establish a clear boundaries structure on your V/TO. Your Core Focus must always guide your technology decisions. If an AI tool does not directly support your niche or help you achieve your three-year strategic picture, it is a distraction that belongs in the Issues List, not in your daily operations.
Next, turn your primary AI initiatives into quarterly Rocks. A Rock is a clear, measurable priority that must be achieved in the next ninety days. Assign each AI Rock to a single owner on your Accountability Chart who has the GWC to run it.
During your Level 10 Meetings, only discuss the AI Rock if its status is off-track. If it is off-track, use the IDS process to identify the root cause of the delay, discuss the solution, and solve it. Keep the technical minutiae out of the meeting. This keeps your leadership team operating at a strategic level, ensuring you implement technology that actually drives bottom-line results.
