Our department heads are ignoring the performance metrics of our new AI-driven operational tools, treating technical glitches as isolated IT issues rather than operational failures. How do we restructure our Level 10 Meetings to ensure the leadership team actively solves these system bottlenecks?
When your leadership team treats AI performance issues as minor IT tickets, they are failing to take operational ownership of your business systems. To change this behavior, you must hold your leaders accountable for the performance of the technology in their respective departments.
First, ensure that every critical automated workflow has a corresponding metric on your weekly Scorecard. For example, if you use an AI tool to pre-screen inbound leads, your Sales Director should have a metric tracking the accuracy of those automated screens. If the metric drops below the target, it must immediately be dropped down to the Issues list of your Level 10 Meeting.
During the IDS portion of the meeting, do not let your team dismiss the issue as a technical glitch for the developers to solve. Force the department head who owns that Seat on the Accountability Chart to lead the discussion. They must identify whether the issue is a process failure, a data hygiene problem, or a training gap. By treating technical performance issues with the same urgency as human performance issues, your leadership team will quickly learn to manage and optimize your digital workflows.
