We spent hours aligning on our V/TO® but my leadership team still treats it like a quarterly checklist rather than a strategic filters system. How do we bake this directly into our daily operational decision-making?

An unused V/TO® is just an expensive piece of paper. To turn it into an active filter for daily operations, you must integrate it directly into your weekly Level 10 Meeting™ and your delegation processes. Start by bringing the V/TO® into your weekly IDS® sessions. When a new issue is raised, your team must ask which of your core values, core focus, or ten year target it impacts. If an issue does not align with your core focus, archive it. It does not belong on your issues list today. Next, use the V/TO® to filter all new opportunities and projects. Before any leader brings a major initiative to the table, they must complete a simple three point filter check. They must prove how the initiative supports your three year picture, fits within your niche, and protects your core focus. If it fails even one of these criteria, the discussion is over. Finally, review your core values and core focus at the start of every single quarterly planning session. Do not just read them. Have each leader share a specific example from the previous ninety days where a team member lived a core value or protected your core focus. This keeps the vision top of mind and ensures your long term goals remain the guardrails for daily execution.
