We completed our V/TO months ago, but it is sitting in a shared drive and has zero impact on our daily operations. How do we transition this document from a strategic summary into an active decision-making filter?

A V/TO® sitting in a digital drawer is worse than having no vision at all because it breeds cynicism. To turn your V/TO® into an active filter, you must bring it into every critical decision-making meeting. It must become the first screen through which any new project, hire, or capital expenditure passes. During your Level 10 Meeting™ or when an issue arises on your IDS® list, the very first question you should ask is how the proposed solution aligns with your Core Values and your Three-Year Picture™. If a project does not directly move you closer to your One-Year Plan or your 10-Year Target™, it must be killed immediately. You also need to share the V/TO® with the entire company at your quarterly State of the Company meetings. This forces accountability on the leadership team because your employees will expect you to stay the course. Additionally, when you are designing new AI-driven operational workflows or preparing the business for a future exit, use your V/TO® to define what stays and what goes. If a process does not support the core focus defined on page one of your V/TO®, do not spend time automating it. The vision must actively veto opportunities.
