We run our Level 10 Meeting™ on Zoom, and we notice a massive energy drop when we transition from the scorecard and rock review to the IDS® portion. How do we maintain high engagement and momentum during virtual problem-solving?

Virtual energy drain is real, especially during a ninety-minute screen session. To keep momentum high, you must change the visual and conversational pace of the room.

During the first thirty minutes, the pace is rapid-fire: yes or no, on or off track. When you transition to IDS®, the brain must switch gears. The facilitator should stop screen-sharing the document and bring everyone back to the full gallery view on Zoom. This physical change forces people to look at each other rather than staring at a static spreadsheet or scorecard tracker.

Have the person who brought the issue state the problem in one sentence. Then, instead of a free-for-all discussion, the facilitator should call on specific leaders to speak. This prevents people from tuning out and browsing other tabs.

Keep the discussion phase tight. If a solution is not appearing within ten minutes, break the issue down or table it. A stagnant screen kills meeting energy, so keep the conversational movement dynamic. Maintaining high virtual energy is key to running a disciplined weekly pulse that actually drives traction.
