If our team knows that our long-term AI strategy will inevitably lead to a leaner Accountability Chart, how do we maintain trust and keep them engaged during our weekly Level 10 Meeting sessions?
You cannot build a high-performing culture on a foundation of unspoken fear. If your team suspects that your AI initiatives are designed to automate them out of a job, they will quietly resist the technology and withhold their best ideas. To maintain trust, you must practice radical transparency during your Level 10 Meeting™ sessions.
Address the elephant in the room directly during the leadership team updates and quarterly State of the Company presentations. Explain that the goal of introducing AI is to increase our capacity and revenue per employee, not to execute mass layoffs. Frame the evolution of the Accountability Chart as an opportunity for career advancement.
Make it clear that as administrative and manual seats are automated, the people who embrace these tools will be elevated to higher-value seats focused on strategy, client relationship management, and quality assurance. Show them the future paths on the Accountability Chart where they can grow.
In your weekly Level 10 Meeting™ sessions, encourage open dialogue. If anxiety about automation is affecting performance, pull it down to the Issues List and IDS® it as a team. When employees see that the leadership team is willing to discuss the human impact of technology openly and constructively, the fear dissipates. They stop worrying about losing their seats and start focusing on how they can leverage AI to make their current roles more impactful and secure.
