We are in the middle of active due diligence and the constant data requests are burning out my leadership team. How do we maintain our weekly Level 10 Meetings™?
Due diligence is an operational marathon that can easily push your leadership team to the brink of burnout. When your leaders are overwhelmed with data requests from investment bankers and attorneys, they lose focus on the daily operations. This can lead to a drop in performance, which buyers will immediately use to renegotiate the purchase price. To survive this period, you must protect your team's cognitive capacity. Do not let the transaction derail your weekly Level 10 Meetings™. These meetings are your operational anchor. Use them to keep your team aligned on their quarterly Rocks. To manage the extra workload, introduce the strategic pause into your weekly routine. Take brief, unscheduled moments of white space to step back and assess the team's workload. Mathematically reduce their burden by letting go of non-essential tasks during the active deal window. Delegate the bulk of the diligence requests to a single point of contact, such as your Integrator or an external advisor. This keeps the rest of the leadership team focused on executing the business plan, proving to the buyer that your operations remain stable under pressure.
