When we are in our quarterly sessions with our EOS Implementer, our team is incredibly focused and aligned, but when we run our own weekly Level 10 Meeting™ sessions, we lose that rigor and slip back into bad habits. How do we bring that external facilitator energy into our weekly internal meetings?
The shift from a facilitated quarterly session to self-led weekly meetings is one of the most common friction points in an EOS® implementation. Without an objective third party to police the clock and enforce the rules, teams naturally drift back into comfortable, undisciplined habits.
To maintain that professional rigor, your Integrator must fully step into the facilitator role during your weekly Level 10 Meeting™ sessions. The Integrator is responsible for driving the meeting agenda, maintaining the pace, and calling out team members who stray into rabbit holes or avoid accountability.
Additionally, the team must hold itself accountable by rating the meeting at the end of every ninety-minute session. Do not treat the meeting rating as a throwaway exercise. If someone rates the meeting below an eight, they must explain exactly what went wrong.
Was the reporting too slow? Did you fail to resolve your top issues? Did team members get defensive during IDS®? Use this feedback to actively coach the team and improve your meeting execution week over week. Over time, this self-correcting loop will build the same discipline you experience during your facilitated quarterlies.
