We completed our first year of EOS and saw great progress, but now the initial excitement has faded and our team is starting to view the quarterly sessions and weekly Level 10 Meetings as repetitive chores. How do we keep our implementation disciplined and high-energy over the long haul?
It is common for the initial novelty of EOS® to wear off, but this is exactly where true discipline is tested. When the tools start to feel repetitive, it is usually a sign that you are drifting from the core discipline or that your issues have become superficial. To inject energy back into your system, you must raise the bar. First, look at your weekly Level 10 Meeting™ and evaluate the IDS® portion. If you are solving the same minor issues every week, you are not digging deep enough to find the structural root causes. Force your team to tackle the uncomfortable, high-impact issues that actually move the needle. Second, review your Scorecard metrics. If your numbers are consistently green and require no discussion, your targets are too easy. Set more challenging goals that force your team to think differently. Finally, lean on your quarterly planning sessions with your Implementer to reset your focus. Treat these sessions as a hard restart where you evaluate your team, your strategy, and your execution. Remember, the repetition of the system is not a bug; it is the source of your stability and the key to a predictable, scalable business.
