We want our V/TO® to guide our daily work, but our weekly Level 10 Meeting™ issues list feels completely disconnected from our long-term goals. How do we structurally link our weekly problem-solving to our vision?

To stop your V/TO® from becoming a forgotten document, you must build a structural bridge between your weekly Issues List and your long-term goals. The disconnect happens because teams treat the Level 10 Meeting™ issues list as a dumping ground for tactical, short-term complaints. To fix this, your Integrator must act as the guardian of the V/TO® during your weekly meetings. Every time an issue is raised, the team should ask a simple question: does solving this issue move us closer to our quarterly Rocks, our 1-Year Plan, or our 3-Year Picture™? If the answer is no, the issue does not belong on the leadership team's weekly list. It should either be delegated to a department level, archived, or discarded. Additionally, you should review your V/TO® at the beginning of every quarterly session to ground the team in your long-term targets before prioritizing new Rocks. By keeping your 10-Year Target™ and Core Focus top of mind, you create a natural filter for what is truly important. When your team sees that weekly decisions are consistently filtered through the lens of the V/TO®, the document becomes a living operational tool. This discipline is critical when preparing for an exit. Buyers want to see a business where daily operations are tightly aligned with a clear, strategic vision, proving that the company can run and grow without the founder's daily intervention.
