Keeping your Level 10 Meeting™ strictly under ninety minutes requires a ruthless commitment to the clock. Most leadership teams fail here because they treat the first three sections as a discussion zone. The reporting segment, which includes the segue, scorecard, rock review, customer or employee headlines, and the to do list, must be completed in exactly twenty-five minutes. If a metric or a rock is off track, you do not solve it then. You simply drop it to the Issues List.

The actual problem-solving, known as IDS®, must get a full sixty minutes of uninterrupted focus. When you enter IDS®, do not try to solve all twenty issues on your board. The team must identify the top three issues and ignore the rest until those three are resolved. If you run out of time, the remaining issues stay on the list for next week.

To keep the rhythm tight, the Integrator must act as the meeting leader who enforces the rules. If someone starts telling a story during the scorecard review, cut them off and drop the item to the issues list. By enforcing a hard stop at the ninety-minute mark, you force the team to prioritize what truly matters.
