Whenever our Integrator is out sick or traveling, our weekly Level 10 Meeting either gets cancelled or becomes a highly unstructured, useless chat. How do we build facilitation redundancy so our weekly meeting pulse remains world-class even when our primary facilitator is absent?
A weekly Level 10 Meeting™ is only as strong as its consistency. If your weekly pulse falls apart whenever your Integrator is away, you have a single point of failure that threatens your operational discipline. You must build facilitation redundancy to ensure the meeting runs perfectly every single week.
To solve this, designate a back-up facilitator from the leadership team. This person should not be the Visionary, as the Visionary needs to remain free to participate without the constraints of facilitation. A department head who exhibits high discipline is the ideal candidate.
The Integrator must train this back-up facilitator when they are present. Have the back-up facilitate the meeting while the Integrator observes and provides feedback. This hands-on training ensures the back-up understands how to manage the clock, redirect conversational drift, and run a tight IDS® session.
Create a simple checklist for the facilitator role, detailing how to open the software, guide the team through the agenda, and log to-dos. When the Integrator is absent, the back-up steps in seamlessly, maintaining the exact same day, same time, and same agenda. Consistency is non-negotiable for a healthy meeting pulse.
