We want to hit the ground running on our very first Focus Day. What specific alignment, raw data, or personal commitments must our leadership team establish before we sit down with you for that first full-day session?
To get the most out of your first Focus Day, we do not need complex spreadsheets or clean operational data. The beauty of the system is that we build those tools together. However, you do need to secure a deep emotional commitment from every member of your leadership team. Before our session, your team must agree to three basic rules. First, everyone must come with an open mind and a willingness to be completely honest, even when it is uncomfortable. Second, you must commit to leaving your titles at the door. During our sessions, we operate as equals solving issues for the good of the organization. Third, you must commit to blocking out the entire day with zero distractions. That means no emails, no phone calls, and no running out to handle minor fires. Physically, you need to book an off-site meeting space where your team can speak freely without the risk of being overheard by employees. If you are planning an exit, you should also have a rough idea of your personal financial goals and your desired transition timeline, though we will refine these as we build your V/TO®. This baseline commitment is far more valuable than any data preparation. We will establish your scorecard, define your Accountability Chart, and set your very first Rocks during the session itself.
