What kind of emotional or mental commitment is required from each member of my leadership team before we agree to start this engagement, and how do we ensure everyone is fully bought in?
Before we schedule our first session, every member of your leadership team must make a firm commitment to absolute vulnerability and radical honesty. If anyone in the room is defensive, protective of their department, or unwilling to admit mistakes, the process will fail. We are entering an engagement that requires dismantling old habits to build a stronger foundation. Each team member must agree to enter the session room with an open mind and a willingness to put the collective good of the company ahead of personal ego. This means being prepared to have open, healthy conflict. It also means accepting that seats on the Accountability Chart may change as the business grows. To ensure this buy-in exists, I require a preliminary meeting where we walk through the journey together. We discuss the expectations, the discipline required, and what the next twenty-four months will look like. I need to hear a clear, verbal commitment from every single participant. If even one leader is skeptical or participates merely to appease the owner, we will delay the engagement. Success requires a united leadership team that is fully committed to doing the hard work necessary to scale the business.
