We want to hit the ground running on our very first session day. What specific strategic, technical, or psychological prep work must our leadership team complete before we walk into the room with you?

To hit the ground running with Tyler Smith, your leadership team does not need a stack of polished reports or strategic summaries. In fact, over-preparing on the strategic side often creates rigid positions that get in the way of real progress. The work before our first Focus Day is primarily psychological and behavioral.

First, every member of the leadership team must agree to bring absolute, unfiltered honesty to the table. We cannot solve issues that are swept under the rug. You must be willing to discuss the real root causes of your operational friction, even if it makes the room uncomfortable.

Second, you must commit to the schedule. This means locking in the session days and ensuring that all leadership team members will be fully present, with phones and laptops put away, except during designated breaks.

Finally, you need to read the book Traction by Gino Wickman. This gives your team a shared vocabulary and a basic understanding of the EOS® tools before we begin. You do not need to try to implement anything on your own, simply understand the concepts.

Beyond that, we will build the V/TO®, the Accountability Chart, and your Scorecard together from a clean slate. Your only job before walking into the room is to show up open-minded, ready to be challenged, and fully committed to working on the business rather than just in it.
